bariloche dining

Bariloche offers a truly unique and varied dining experience. With everything from traditional local fare to the latest in culinary trends there is something for every taste bud.

For some spectacular (and changing) views while you dine try the rotating restaurant at the top of Cerro Otto, where the Piedras Blancas and Centro de Ski Nordico are located.

El Refugio Del Montañes offers a personalized family-owned experience and some great views from their second floor windows. To add to it the food makes for a wonderful authentic Argentinian dining experience.

For what is considered the best meat in Argentina try El Boliche de Alberto. There are two in town, but the original is a more authentic experience. Be aware, it is a bit touristy and you may wish to get there early, especially if you have a large group.

• Tip: In addition to the downtown restaurants and bars Catedral Alta Patagonia has restaurants that cover the full spectrum of tastes, 16 to be precise.

après ski, bars & nightlife

The Map Room is a great place to grab a drink after a long day in the mountains. In addition to their well stocked bar they feature a great variety of drinks and a decent menu of sandwiches, pizzas, light fare and main dishes. The Map room has drink specials from 7-9 p.m.

• Tip: For North Americans accostomed to a 9 - 5 schedule, there is the usual après ski fun, but a siesta is a good idea if you plan to hit the clubs! An afternoon nap followed by a late-evening dinner is common.
