El Refugio Del Montañes offers a personalized family-owned experience and some great views from their second floor windows. To add to it the food makes for a wonderful authentic Argentinian dining experience.
For what is considered the best meat in Argentina try El Boliche de Alberto. There are two in town, but the original is a more authentic experience. Be aware, it is a bit touristy and you may wish to get there early, especially if you have a large group.
Tip: In addition to the downtown restaurants and bars Catedral Alta Patagonia has restaurants that cover the full spectrum of tastes, 16 to be precise.
The Map Room is a great place to grab a drink after a long day in the mountains. In addition to their well stocked bar they feature a great variety of drinks and a decent menu of sandwiches, pizzas, light fare and main dishes. The Map room has drink specials from 7-9 p.m.
Tip: For North Americans accostomed to a 9 - 5 schedule, there is the usual après ski fun, but a siesta is a good idea if you plan to hit the clubs! An afternoon nap followed by a late-evening dinner is common.
